MANIFESTATION OF TRUTH
RE: The Movie “ISPIRITISTA- ITAY, MAY MOOMOO!”
Greetings!
“Ispiritista”/”Espiritista” is the calling for the Faithful Christian believers of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Bible says, “Ang Dios ay Espiritu at ang mga sa kaniya’y nagsisisamba ay kinakailangan magsisamba sa Espiritu at Katotohanan,” Juan 4:24. [This is] the reason why the believers are called “Ispiritista/Espiritista.” There are hundreds of millions of Spiritists/Spiritualists around the globe, different spelling but just one and the same meaning.
In our country, we call “Katoliko” for the Roman Catholic believers, Born Again for the Christian groups, etc.
Our group is registered under the name of Union Espiritista Cristiana de Filipinas, Inc.-UECFI (as briefly explained in Yours Fraternally Magazine of the International Spiritualist Federation (ISF), England, January 2005 issue, page 23. Annex-A) is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Registry No. 15147, and classified as a Religious Association.
The teaching is called Spiritism (just like Christianism, Buddhism, etc.) because it involves Faith in Holy Spirit, research and studies on own’s soul/spirit purification, its advancement/progress towards God through the direct teaching and governance of the Holy Spirit; Spiritism doctrines (Annex B) constitute the beliefs, values, morals and principles of the believers, known as “Ispiritistas/Espiritistas.”
Our members are all over the country from Luzon to Mindanao, including those who are working and/or residing in several foreign nations like in the US mainland, Canada, Hawaii, Hong Kong, and Italy who are supportive and actively participating in our activities and could spare their time and money to get home for the sake of Faith, as made known by their presence during our recently concluded Centennial Celebration (photocopy of e-mail messages before they came is attached Annex C).
Also, our foreign affiliation to the International Spiritualist Federation (ISF), with more that 35 member countries including USA, France, Spain, etc., have high respect and appreciation to Philippine Spiritism, and who also pledged and continuously fulfilling their promise in promoting the country for further Spiritual growth and progress of students and believers of Spiritism, as evidence by their worldwide, circulated magazine and speaking engagement in various Spiritual organizations (photocopies of e-mail messages herein attached Annex D1, D2.)
In our Centennial Anniversary and General Assembly held last February 2005, Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo sent her warmest greetings to our group “for the unity and harmony of our people through the power of Faith and Religion” (Annex E).
With all the foregoing circumstances, we are deeply sad of the false impression and misbelieve to our group called Union –“Ispiritistas/Espiritistas” implicated in the forthcoming showing of the discriminating film entitled “ISPIRITISTA- ITAY, MAY MOOMOO!,” which will portray dishonor, disgrace and humiliate our members and the Union, as well.
In view of the above, we humbly pray that our brief expression of the truth be considered and favorably acted upon for the amendment or revision of the said movie title and to edit portions by deleting all the words or names referring to “Ispiritista/Espiritista” with due respect to the Holy Spirit and His Ministering Spirits, the Bible says, “Kaya’t sinasabi ko sa inyo, ang bawat kasalanan at kapusungan ay ipapatawad sa mga tao; datapuwat ang kapusungan sa Espiritu ay hindi ipatatawad” (Mateo 12:31).
With the Blessings of the Holy Spirit.
Sincerely yours,
